COLUMBIA, S.C. - Services for Mrs. Thelma Lee Wright Baker, of 400 Flora Dr., will be noon Friday, at Christian Faith Fellowship Church, 2625 Alpine Rd., with burial in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. tonight, at Palmer Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Baker died Friday, April 15, 2011.
She was graduate of George Washington Carver High School, Newport News, Va. She was employed with South Carolina State Government, in 1975, the Office of the Attorney General, and also worked as Secretary to the Director of Public and Governmental Affairs at the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. She retired from the Human Affairs Commission, in 2007, after more than 30 years of service.
Surviving are her husband, Johnny James Baker; daughter, Cassandra Palmer Baker; sons, Johnny Leon Baker (Lawahid), and Kevin Jerome Baker; grandchildren; brothers, Charles R., Stephen V., and Bruce N. Wright; sisters, Linda P. Cook and Pattie W. (Freeman) Lomax; and a host of other relatives and friends.
