Barbara Jean Yarborough Arrington, age 75, of Woodlawn Ave., Erie PA transitioned to glory on June 6, 2016.
She was born October 9, 1940, in Jackson, TN, a daughter to the late Levi and Louise Jordan Yarborough.
Barbara attended Ora Jean Beauty School and J.H. Thompson Academy. She was a Representative for Koscot Cosmetics, a cosmetologist and worked at Carlisles, Harborcreek Plaza, and Unisex for more than 35 years.
Barbara was united in marriage to George E. Arrington, Sr. Six children were born from this union. She loved homemaking, being with her family, hair dressing, makeup and fashion, which included her classy hats. Her hobbies were gardening and decorating. She loved cooking and passing on recipes to her family. Her family and faith were most important to her.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Arrington, grandson, Steve Arrington II, a brother, Harry Yarborough and two sisters, Lela Mae Hodges and Lucille Rosendary Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Rick Arrington, George E. (Debra) Arrington, Jr. and Steve (Sonya) Arrington, all of Erie; two daughters, Renita Arrington and Marthenia Arrington Stallsmith; a brother, Mike Yarborough; a sister Clara Boone and the grandchildren she raised, Glenn Brown, Ricky Arrington, Jr., Miyesha Gibbs, Tiana Holcombe, Nakisha Holcombe, twenty six grandchildren, fifty four great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Barbara was grateful for the extended care given by her son and Daughter in law, Steve and Sonya Arrington as well as her daughter and granddaughter, Marthenia Stallsmith and Lisa Arrington, son and daughter, Ricky Sr. and Renita Arrington.
Friends may call on Friday, June 10th from 6p.m. until 8 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church, 327 East 23rd St., Erie and attend a service there on Saturday, June 11th at 11 a.m. Pastor Amos Goodwine, Sr., Emeritus, and Pastor Duane Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
