Betty Yarborough Willis, 77, passed away on May 21, 2008. Betty was born and raised in the Gastonia, N.C. area and moved to Richmond, Va. where she married and raised her family.

Betty was devoted to her family and her church, Kenwood United Methodist, serving as treasurer of the women's group for over 25 years.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas C. Willis; her children, Kenny Willis (Kim), Anne Melton (Ed), Beth Stevenson (Dirk), and Wendy Rada (Mark); her grand-children, Tiffany Lunde (Erik), Samuel and Claire Rada; and her great-grandson, Bryce Lunde. Betty is also survived by three brothers, Tommy (Frances), Henry (Lelia Jane), and Pete (Jean) Yarborough, all of North Carolina, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Betty's sparkling, brown eyes, sweet smile, and sunny personality will be missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 25 at Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 26 at Kenwood United Methodist Church, with Rev. Beth Givens officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Betty's memory to the Kenwood United Methodist Church Building Fund, 11208 Elmont Road, Ashland, Va. 23005.
