Founder of Galatasaray Club.

Ali Sami Yen was also one of the leading organizers in Turkish football. He became one of the founders of the Turkey Training Communities Association. He headed the Turkish Olympic Committee, which participated in 1924 Paris Olympic Games. He served as the President of the Turkish National Olympic Committee between 1926 and 1931.

Ali Sami Yen took the presidency of Galatasaray in two spells; the first one lasted 13 years, between 1905 and 1918 and the second one lasted only one year in 1925.

His name was given to the stadium in which the club plays his home matches today.
