Aubrey, Charlotte and Howard were killed October 3, 1926, when the car in which they were riding was struck by a Denver-bound Sante Fe passenger train 3 miles north of Sedalia.

It was a Sunday, so had gone for a drive into the mountains. Charlotte and Howard were dead on scene and Aubrey died on the way to Denver.
