LAKE CITY: Mrs. Mary Baker Hudson, 89, wife of the late Benjamin Allen Hudson, died peacefully at home on Monday, January 4, 2010.

Mrs. Hudson was born May 5, 1920, in Sumter County, a daughter of the late Jubal Early and Ruth Baker Early. She was a graduate of Sumter High School. Mrs. Hudson was a member of Lake City First Baptist Church, the Frances Brickle Sunday School Class, where she served as class president, a member of the WMU Group #1, and the DMA. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Survivors include: a daughter, Janice Graham and her husband, Jamie of Lake City; sons, John Hudson and his wife, Brenda of Myrtle Beach, and Art Hudson and his wife, Emily of Greenville; grandchildren, Janna (Corey) Dobson, Ben Graham, Joel Graham, Cheryl (Paul) Passey, Allen (Karolyn) Hudson, Seth (Cecily) Hudson and Stuart Hudson; 11 great grandchildren; and 8 great, great grandchildren; two sisters, Lola Rawls and Ann Johnson. Mrs. Hudson was predeceased by an infant daughter.

A family burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 7, 2009, at the Sumter Cemetery in Sumter, South Carolina. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 A.M. at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, South Carolina, officiated by the Reverend Shane Patrick.

The family will receive friends from 6:00— 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake City First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 820, Lake City, South Carolina 29560.
