Ware Shoals, S.C. Larkin Hughes, Jr. 75, of 1004 Harmony Church Road, husband of Jean Vaughn Hughes died July 27, 2008 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was born in Laurens County, a son of the late Larkin, Sr. and Lillian Mitchell Hughes. Mr. Hughes was retired from Daniel Construction Co. and was a farmer. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict., was a member of Princeton Masonic Lodge #129 and was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church.

Surviving besides his wife of the home are: three sons, James Roger Hughes, Larkin "Sonny" Hughes III, Joseph Craig Hughes all of Ware Shoals, two daughters,
Debra Jean Benton, and Carolyn Diane Lee both of Ware Shoals and a brother, James Richard Hughes of Ware Shoals, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tina Thomas and Rev. Leon Jones will officiate.
