Mrs. Leo (Junita) Massman, 83, of 2148 S. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday,
March 14, 1989 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will
be 11 am Friday at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. Bruce McKenney and
Rev. Lyle Luchterhand will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. Massman was born May 4, 1905, in the Town of Mishicot, daughter of the late
Joseph and Augusta Landt Fritsch. She received her education at Two Creeks
Elementary School, Washington high School in Two Rivers and Holy Family School
of Nursing, graduating in October of 1932. Mrs. Massman was employed as a
registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls, Holy Family Medical Center
in Manitowoc and Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc, retiring in 1968. She married
Byron Sellen in 1939 at Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1951. She then
married Leo H. Massman, June 2, 1956 at Manitowoc. Mrs. Massman was a member of
Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Leo; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Al Leu
of rural Manitowoc; a brother, William H. Kracht of Manitowoc; three grandchildren,
Amy Leu, Shawn Leu and Bobbette Leu Timmermann; nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
Friends may call at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5 pm to 8 pm Thursday and
on Friday after 10 am until the time of services at 11 am. Memorials would be
appreciated to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund. Harrigan Parkside
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
