He was born Feb. 6, 1892 in the town of Rantoul, a son of Ferdinand and Wilhelmina Leibzeitz Matznick. He attended the district school.
Mr. Matznick operated farms at Collins and Valders and was employed at the Midwest Creamery, Manitowoc. Prior to hospitalization, he resided at the Calumet Homestead, New Holstein.
On Nov. 21, 1914 he married Ida Gauger at Manitowoc. She died in 1940. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Albert Schneider, Howards Grove. A sister and five brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, the Rev. Richard Warnke, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
