WILLIAM O. MUELLER (d. 1969)

William O. Mueller, 68, of 1711 Johnston Dr., Manitowoc, a retired employe of
Manitowoc Engineering, Inc., died unexpectedly early Thursday morning at his
home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Mishicot, the Rev. Herbert Kesting officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Mueller was born at Hanover, Germany, Sept. 26, 1900, a son of the late
August and Minnie Logus Mueller. When he was 23, he immigrated to this country,
settling in Two Rivers where he was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co.
While in Two Rivers, he was a member of a soccer team made up of a number of
young German immigrants. For 30 years until his retirement in 1966, he was an
employe of Manitowoc Engineering, Inc. For the past 35 years he also was a
gardener at the John D. West home on Memorial Drive. He was a long-time vice
president of the Freier Saengerbund at Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lydia Schmidt, whom he married Oct. 14,
1933, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mishicot; a son, William Jr. of
Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Wilkens and Mrs. Ernest Kammann in Germany;
a brother, Henry in Germany, and two grandchildren.
A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Klein and Stangel, Inc. Funeral Home, Two Rivers, after 3
p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday when the church where the body will lie in
casket will be taken to the state until the time of services.
