AUSTIN -- Marlene K. Wengel, 41, of Woodland, Calif., and an Austin area native, died of cancer Nov. 11, 1992, in Woodland. She had been ill five years.
Marlene Seljeseth was born here on Oct. 18, 1951, graduated from Rose Creek High School and attended Austin Vocational-Technical School. She was a bookkeeper in Austin and Owatonna for a time and had been employed in data processing for Midas Corp. for 22 years. On Aug. 25, 1979, she married Wayne Wengel in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Reginiacq at home; two sons, Charles and Nicholas, both at home; her mother, Helen (Mrs. Mervin) Shawback of Brownsdale; her father, S. Melvin Seljeseth of Austin; four sisters, Sonya (Mrs. Roger) Hofner of Dexter, LaVonne (Mrs. Alan) Fones of Roseburg, Ore., Colleen (Mrs. Earl) Sletten of Owatonna and Renae (Mrs. Roger) Russell of Conroe, Texas; and three brothers, Larry Seljeseth of Dodge Center, Tharen Seljeseth of Owatonna and Fredrick Fitzwater of Austin.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army Citadel in Austin, with Capt. Alan Fones officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service at the citadel.
