TELECKY, Clyde Sherman A lifelong resident of Ritzville, died at age 95 on Thursday, July 18, at the Rose Garden Estates. He was born May 12, 1918, to Frank and Caroline Telecky (Olsen). After graduating from Ritzville High School in 1936, he started farming east of Ritzville. In 1940 he married Mae Meyer and they farmed until 1957 when they sold the ranch. He then worked at the Ritzville Trading Company, the ASCS office and as a ranch hand. In 1965 he started work as a deputy county assessor with Adams County retiring in 1980. In 1956 Clyde received the Cattleman of the Year Award from the Adams County Cattlemen Association. He was an avid country music fan, and after retirement found great joy in singing and playing his guitar and harmonica with family and friends as well as entertaining at senior center venues in Ritzville. He also enjoyed helping others by performing maintenance and property repairs, most notably at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Burroughs Home, and at his families' farms. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Mae Telecky of Ritzville; son Bruce (Dottie) Telecky of Ritzville; daughter Roberta (Tom) Cox of South Dakota; two granddaughters Dawn (Ryo) Olson of Ritzville and Jill (Tim) Larson of Odessa and four great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jordan Olson, and Elizabeth and Nicholas Larson. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 28, at 2 PM at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville. Burial will be at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church or an Alzheimer's research institution of their choice. DANEKAS FUNERAL HOME-RITZVILLE is entrusted with arrangements.
