Vincent Wasilewski was born at Athens, Illinois, on December 17, 1922, the son of Alex Wasilewski and Anna Gillespie. He served as a B-29 crew member with the Army Air Forces in India and China during World War II.

Vincent graduated from the University of Illinois School of Law in 1949 and started his law career with the National Association of Broadcasters. He served as chief counsel and executive vice president before being named president of the broadcasters association in 1965. He served in that position for 17 years, leaving to join a Washington, D.C., law firm in 1982.

Vincent married Illinois native Patricia Callery and together they raised six children, four daughters and two sons. Patricia died in 1989; Vincent later married Marjorie Nohowel.

Vincent died at Washington Hospital Center on September 9, 1999. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Little Flower in Bethesda, Maryland, and interment was at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Virginia.

He was survived by his second wife, his children, three sisters, two brothers, three stepchildren and 11 grandchildren.
