He was awarded the "Bronze Star" and the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.

Below 753rd Tank Battalion History by:
The 753d Tank Battalion was constituted on 16 Dec 1940, activated on 1 June 1941 at Ft Benning, Georgia.
They landed in North Africa on 26 May, 1943, Sicily on 10 July 1943, Italy on 9 Sept 1943 and southern France on 15 August 1944.
In December supported both the 3rd and 36th Divisions in fierce fighting in the Selestat-Ribeauville-Keysersberg area, then moved with the 36th into the Strasbourg area.
They fought against the German Northwind offensive in Jan 1945.
On 15 March 1945 jumped off in support of the 36th's attack through the Siegfried Line toward the Rhine River. Crossed the Rhine in April while attached to the 63rd Infantry Division for limited pursuit of enemy and cleaning up by passed strong points, including Heilbronn.
They were located in Kufstein, Austria, when cease-fire orders were received on 7 May 1945
