A Captain with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, he commanded the Temple City Station. Deeply troubled by finacial issues as a result of health issues in the family, the 16 year veteran left the station in a radio car, went to his home in Arcadia, and then disappeared. Personnel from the station looked for him and found his car near the dry wash of the San Gabriel River. He had committed suicide with his .38 caliber service revolver.
