Delphia Baker Adams, 85, of Phil Campbell, Ala., died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, of natural causes. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Akins Funeral Home.
The funeral will be Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006. The body will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m., and the funeral will be at 11 a.m. at Blue Springs Freewill Baptist Church, with burial in Blue Springs-Cemetery.
Officiating at the funeral will be Brother Paul Cummings and Brother John McCullar.
She was a native of Franklin County and was a former resident of Phil Campbell, Ala.
She is survived by son, Ralph Adams and wife, Flo, of Phil Campbell, Ala.; daughters, Carolyn Vandiver and husband, Tom, Shirley Cummings and husband, Paul, both of Phil Campbell, Ala., Debra Weeks and husband, J.T., of Lexington, Ala.; brothers, T.D. Baker and wife, Jolene, of Phil Campbell, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bill Adams; her parents, Charlie and Alvie Baker; her son, Rayburn Adams; brothers, Mack Baker, Rufus Baker; and sister, Lucille Sims.
