Joseph was the first recorded internment at East Rockingham Cemetery. The exact location of his plot is not known, however a plaque to commemorate his interment has been placed on the front stone wall of the cemetery in the Anglican A section.

Arrived in Clarence, Western Australia on board the ship "Hooghly" on the 13th of February 1830 which was carrying 180 migrants from London, England to Fremantle, Western Australia. This included Joseph, his wife and 5 children.
Married Jane Ann Burrows in England.
