Mr. Alvey passed away May 8, 2012, at his home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1942, in Canton to John and Millie Josephine Gordon Alvey. He had lived in Grand Saline since 1955 where he was an ambulance driver and firefighter for the Grand Saline Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He had also worked for John Teague Funeral Home, Napa Auto Parts, Ritchie Ford Dealership in Grand Saline, Skipper Moore Ford in Mineola and Tyler Pipe for more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sonny Alvey; and sister, Patricia Morris.
