Elsie Arlene Chavers Adams, 84, of Lake Brownwood, TX., passed from this earthly life into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on January 29, 2013. Elsie was born December 11, 1928 in Cottage Hill, FL. to the late Rev. Bruce and Gladys Chavers, the second of six children.

Following in the footsteps of her father; Elsie became a Minister. She was a devout Christian, Minister, Missionary and a member of the New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs, Tx. She dedicated the majority of her life to her missionary work; traveling, teaching God's word, bringing the scriptures to people around the world, giving Bibles to many who had never seen or heard of a Bible, and baptising souls. She made a great many friends along the way. She was known to all of her family and friends as a great prayer warrior; always taking the time to pray with/for those who were in need of prayer.

Without a doubt, Elsie was the matriarch of her family; a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She continued to show love and strength throughout her lengthy, valiant battle with ovarian cancer. She will be dearly remembered and sorely missed.

She is survived by her; son Richard Larry Ashley of Brownwood, TX; daughters Joyce Pugh of Early, TX, Sheila (Don) Hendrix of Floresville, TX., Charlotte (Byron) Cook of Pensacola, FL.; brother Seaborn (Gail) Chavers of McDavid, FL; Aunt Gloria Etheridge Odom of Dalton, GA; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seventeen nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rev. Bruce Carter Chavers and Gladys Lillian Etheridge Chavers; sister Ethel Chavers; brothers Mallory, Melvin, and Raymond Chavers; and granddaughter Taunja Adams.
