Mrs. Betty Blanche Boone Abbott, age 77, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009. A foster parent for many years, Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Church of Christ in Ripley, Ohio. She was a lover of gardening and birds, and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband, John Abbott of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Gail Hall of Dahlonega; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Joseph Bruce of Cumming; grandchildren, Jonathan and Rhonda Hall of Cumming, Matthew Bruce of Alpharetta, Christa Bruce of Cumming, Candice and Eric Burger of Alpharetta, Amanda and Jason Holt of Marietta; great-grandson, Ethan; sisters, Ruth Herrmann and Thea Goecke, both of Ripley, Ohio, Pat Pyles of Maysvilles, Ky., Diane Boone of Ripley; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Regina Boone of Georgetown, Ohio; stepsons, Steven and Tabby Abbott of Dawsonville, Stanley and Gwinn Abbott of Canton; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 23, at 12:30 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
