Robert Ashbaker was born to Melvin and Rebecca Ashbaker, the youngest of 7 children. Preceeded in death by his parents, brothers, DaWayne, Richard, Elias and Ronald, he is survived by his wife, Diane Mink Ashbaker, Son Steven Robert, engaged to Emily Garcia and daughter Tiffany Kristine (Joe) Jackson-Ashbaker. Also surviving are a niece Jennie Macleod and nephew Kenny (Lucy) Macleod who were raised by Robert and Diane and two sisters, Bonnie Kay of Layton, Utah and Dorothy Robbins of Norwalk, Ohio. Grandchildren include Chelsea Ashbaker, Courtney Ashbaker, Ryan Ashbaker, Ava Ashbaker, Johnny Johnson-Ashbaker and Kylee Macleod.

Bob attended Davis High School in Kaysville Utah before entering the U.S. Marine Corp He served in Vietnam and was stationed in Alameda at the Naval Air Station. After 10 years of active service he was in the reserves for 10 years.
He was a dedicated marine and loved working on helicopters.

A lover of Corvettes, Bob was the club president of the NCCA from 2008-2009 and had been a member since 2000.

This man was was of the smartest, kindest and friendliest men ever to walk on the face of the earth. Always willing to help whoever in need, and with a smile on his face.
