Charles William "Bill" Cooke lifelong New London resident passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015. He was 71.

Bill was born in New London, Ohio to the late Harold and Jean Cooke on August 29, 1944. He graduated with the 1962 class of New London High School and went on to attend the Oberlin School of Business.

Early in Bill's career he worked for the former Ohio Body in New London. He retired after 34 years from Jennings and Churella where he served as the CFO. Bill was a man who worked hard all of his life.

Bill was passionate about photography. He also enjoyed working on cars and was very handy.

Bill is survived by his high school sweetheart of 52 years Suzanne (nee Farnsworth). Suzanne and Bill were married on Friday the 13th in 1963. He is also survived by his sons, Chad (Maria) Cooke of Grafton, Wisconsin and Curt (Soundra) Cooke of Columbus, daughters Stacey (Russ) Booker of Lexington, Kentucky and Shay (Brad) Copley of LaGrange, grandchildren, Colt (Sondra) Cooke, Sage (Alexei) Nikitin, Devin Booker, Samra Cooke, Madison Copley, Kinsey Booker, Corbin Cooke, Jena Copley, Jaden Cooke, Craig Copley, Braxton Booker and Reagan, great grandchildren, Chase and Chloe Cooke and siblings, Darlaine (Richard) Nestor of Norwalk, Joan (Tom) Nichols of New London, Steven (Susan) Cooke of Cape Coral, Florida and Larry (Melanie) Cooke of Columbus.

In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his son, Craig R. Cooke.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 pm of Friday, Nov. 13th at Eastman Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at the Grove Street Cemetery.
