Mrs. Brown was the only daughter of Van Duke and Lucille Stubblefield-Wright.
She attended public schools of San Antonio and graduated from Douglas High School in 1929. Mrs. Brown attended Prairie View University and received both the Bachelors and Masters degrees from that institution.
She began her teaching career at Booker T. Washington Elementary School and remained there until her retirement. 'Mrs. Beasley'* or 'Mrs. B', as she was affectionately called by many of her students, was a strong educator . She was active in numerous community organizations, i.e., Retired Teachers of San Antonio and Sigma Gamma Ro Sorority. She also was a life long member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church and an active member of the Stewardess Board.
'Mrs. B' was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marion Duke Wright; her first husband, Eugene Beasley; their daughter, Shirley Beasley-Morgan; her second husband, Bennie Brown.
