Barron, Wisconsin; Thursday, January 17, 1957; page 3: "John K. Amundson, son of Knute and Rangnild Evensdatter Amundson, was born May 4, 1881 in the town of Dallas, and died at his home in the township Saturday, January 12, 1957. He was married September 5, 1902 [sic] to Anna Wintrone at Chetek and they resided in the town of Dallas, retiring from active farming in 1948. Surviving are his wife and children, Clara of Manitowoc, Genard of Minong, Herman of Minneapolis, Lloyd of Earl, Wallace of San Francisco, Calif., Griffen of Houston, Texas, Ben of Dallas and Kenneth of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and a sister, Anne Halberg of Webster. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan 15, at Nye Scandinavia Lutheran church of Maple Grove, with Rev Harold Bestul officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery."
