Archibald Alexander (1772-1851) Theologian (b. April 17, 1772, near Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia, USA - d. October 22, 1851, Princeton, Mercer County, New Jersey, USA). First professor at the Princeton Theological Seminary (1812-1851) he had previously been president of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia (1797-1806) and then pastor of the Third Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia (1807-1812). He died in 1851 and was buried on October 24 in Princeton Cemetery. His most famous quotation is: "Nature never makes any blunders, when she makes a fool she means it."
