MRS ANDREW PASSES AWAY
Resident For Many Years Near Village Of Caledonia Taken From Earthly Scenes - Funeral Thursday.
Mrs. John Andrew, a resident for many years of the township of Caledonia and well known in Belvidere, passed away Tuesday at her farm home near the village mentioned.
She had been ill for several weeks with erysipelas, and her age was almost fifty years.
The funeral services will be held at the house Thursday forenoon at 10 o'clock, Rev. Pearson, pastor of the Argyle church officiating. John Greenlee, cashier of the People's bank of this city, a cousin of the husband of the deceased, the late John Andrew, and Robert Harvey, D. P. Greenlee and E. J. Watkins, together with members of their families will attend the funeral.
Mrs. Andrew's maiden name was Miss McMillan and she was a daughter of the late Mathew McMillan. Her family came to the Scotch settlement in 1856. John Andrew, her husband, died about a year ago. His body was found at the foot of a windmill on the farm, but whether he fell from the top by accident or whether an attack of heart failure had prostrated him has never been known, for he was alone when he went to the locality. Several sons and daughters survive, those unmarried living at the homestead.
The deceased was an occasional visitor to Belvidere and had many friends here who will regard her departure from earthly scenes as a personal bereavement. Hers was a most beautifuil character and her loss will be deeply felt. Great sympathy for those in affliction will be entertained by all their friends.
