Jesus J. Alvarez, age 84, lifelong of South Deering passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016. Beloved husband of Maria (Godinez). Loving father of Gloria (Salvador) Razo, Sophia Escobedo, Magdalena (Daniel Miller) Vukosavljevic, Marcelo (Araceli) Alvarez, Patricia Alvarez, Angela (Ciro Gabriel) Arce, Maria (Jeffrey) Blankensop & Elizabeth (Luciano) Talavera. Devoted grandfather of 31 & great-grandfather of 11.

Jesus was a retired employee of The Field Museum-Chicago, former employee of Advocate Trinity / South Chicago Hospital & Bethlehem Steel.

Visitation Sunday 1-8 p.m. Funeral Monday, July 11, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago to St. Kevin Church. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. 773-731-2749. www.elmwoodchapel.com.
