Preceding her in death were a son, Edward Akers; and a sister, Marvell Brooks.
The body was cremated. There is a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Open Door Fellowship Church in Jerseyville with the Rev. Wilbur Cain officiating. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association. Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home of Jerseyville is handling arrangements.
