Crossville Chronicle May 17, 1934

E G Hamby, 76, died at his home in the Taylor's Chapel neighborhood last
Thursday at 4 p.m.; burial was at the Taylor's Chapel cemetery Friday with
services conducted by Rev E C Edens.
The deceased had been in failing health for several months and a short time
before passing he contracted pneumonia, which carried him away.
All his life he had been a farmer. He was held in high esteem as he was
always on the side of law and order and stood for right living and clean
things. His wife passed away about 9 years ago.
He is survived by a son, Fred L, who was principal of the Crossville City
Schools for many years; 2 daughters, Mrs Nota Chastain and Miss Dora Hamby.
He was a brother of the late I E Hamby.

Parents: Thomas and Lydia Hassler Hamby.
