My cousin, "Babe", as he was affectionately known by all, was a warm and gentle giant. Everyone loved Babe, it was impossible not to. He served honorably in the US Navy during World War II and with distinction as a firefighter on the City of Miami Fire Department. His great talent lay in his artistic abilities which he cultivated primarily after his retirement to Albany, Georgia in 1972. He became locally famous for the beautifully detailed and intricately designed custom dollhouses he built. An accomplished painter, much of his unique artwork was discovered posthumously by his wife, my cousin, Pat. He is greatly missed, but continues to inspire us by the way in which he lived his life and bravely faced his trials.
