On November 8, 1930 she was married to Arthur Elmer Ahrns in Bay City. He predeceased her November 28, 1996. Mrs. Ahrns was employed as a cook for many years with the Reese Public Schools until her retirement. She was a life member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese, enjoyed traveling, and spent many years with her husband wintering in Florida. Her other enjoyment was playing cards and she was a member of several area card clubs.
Surviving is her daughter, Geraldine Liebknecht of Reese, three grandsons, Kurt Liebknecht and his wife Debra of Apopka, FL., Brad Liebknecht of Orland, FL., and Barry Liebknecht of Hopkinton MA. and three great grandchildren, Wayne, Kevin and Tyler. In addition to her parents and husband, four brothers Rueben, John, Ernest and Carl Wehrman predeceased Ruth.
~SERVICES~ Funeral and committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2004 from the Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Reverend Rod Vereb will officiate with burial to take place later in the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw.
~VISITATION~ Mrs. Ahrns' family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
