3RD GENERATION

Charles Henry, son of John Jacob I, was born in Berks County, Penna. and buried in Iowa.
In 1837 Charles migrated to Ross County, OH. where he married Nancy Taylor.
In 1848 he again migrated to Village Township, Van Buren County, Iowa where they settled on land they bought.
In 1849 Charles went to California because of the gold rush, leaving his family behind. On his return in 1851 while still twenty miles from his home he was taken ill and died, leaving a widow and seven small children
After the death of her husband, Mrs. Weidenhammer moved to Adams County, Illinois. Where she lived until her death in 1879.
She is buried at Quincy, Illinois. Their son Charles Henry , Jr. lived in Glenwood Springs, Colorado for many years, where one son was born.
