When he was 14 years old, he left his home in England, and by 1901 he was in Vancouver earning a living as a valet. Frank met Refugio in San Francisco where she was a waitress and he a valet. They married December 13, 1911 at the San Diego Mission. He worked as a carpenter on movie sets, was in the bakery business, a conductor on the Red Car that went out to the Long Wharf Pier in Santa Monica. He was a licensed real estate broker and an active member of the Elks Lodge #906 in S.M. He was a surveyor in So. Africa and a line was named Pritchard after him. He was also a surveyor in Arizona. He was responsible for having 8th St. renamed Lincoln Blvd. in S.M.
