He died at home surrounded by family. "He went home to be with the Lord". He was educated in the Chester Public Schools. He was a person of many talents that included being a welder, barber and artist. Sandy was cared for by his sister Camille and brother in- law Thomas Mosley during his illness.
Sandy was predeceased by his parents Robert Alston Sr. and Florence Kearney Alston, his beloved wife Marion Alston, three brothers Bernard Alston Sr., Robert Alston Jr. and Bertram Alston. Two sisters Florence Alston and Theresa Hunter.
Survivors include his son Sandy Alston Jr; three stepdaughters Sharon, Norma, Nicole Mc'Neil,sisters Elise Walter, Lester Anderson (John), Camilla Mosley (Thomas), Angela McCormick, Goldie Brown, Claretta Kirkland all of Chester, Tammy Pearsall of De, Cassandra Smith of New Jersey.
