Writer and politician Catalán of the XIX century. It was active part of the "Renaixensa" and helped to restore the Floral Games. It founded the Class of History of Catalunya. It was author of many novels and plays:"Al pie de la encina, historias, tradición" "Cuentos de mi tierra""Las esposalles de la morta Raig de Lluna""Don Joan de Vilallonga""Obras poéticas"... It was the government's part where it occupied the ministries of Overseas and Development. Born in Vilanova i la Geltrú (near Barcelona) he was great benefactor of the city . In 1884 the Bibliotcea Museum that takes its name inaugurated and it donated 20.000 volumes initially. In one of the lateral ones of their mausoleum it can be read sentence with their calligraphy the following: "Loveless for my I had it for all"
