Between 1892 and 1895, Josephine's parent's moved their family to Minnesota. Between 1898 and 1900, the family moved again, just over the border, to Iowa. This time, Josephine did not move with her family. She had married an older man, Frank Borowiak, on 9 November 1898. Frank was a widower with seven children. Frank and Josephine lived on a farm in Martin County and had thirteen more children.
Josephine lost her husband in November of 1925. He passed away at age 70 of heart failure. She lived almost 40 more years, passing away at age 83 in July of 1964 due to cancer. At the time of her death,she had 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
