WARE SHOALS - Raymond Harold Boinski, II, 64, resident of 47 Bonds Drive, husband of Marsha Ann Wachsmuth Boinski, died July 2, 2011 at the Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center.
Born in Chicago, IL, January 25, 1947, he was the son of the late Raymond Harold, Sr. and Helen Germach Boinski. A US Army Veteran, Mr. Boinski served during the Vietnam War in Korea and was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 20. He was formerly employed with the US Postal Service.
A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, he formerly served the Eucharistic Ministry of the church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife of 26 years of the home, are a daughter, Angela Rae Boinski of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, Donald "Don" Smilgelski and wife, Cathy of Little Mountain, Charles Smilgelski of North Carolina and James Boinski and wife, Connie of Chicago, IL; one sister; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Smilgelski.
A funeral mass will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Father James Crowley officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.
Honorary escort will be members of American Legion Post 20.
The family will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
