Roy was born Aug. 25, 1946, in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Worth. He graduated from Diamond Hill Jarvis High School in 1964. He was employed by Lockheed-Martin for 30 years. He lived in Sanger for many years and moved to Arthur City about 11 months ago.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Christine Abney of Fort Worth.
Survivors: Wife, Jacque of Arthur City; sister, Otholene Minton and husband, Randy of Crowley; daughter, Christi Sneed of Norman, Okla.; son, Spain Abney and wife, Stacey of West Richland, Wash.; daughters, Casie Brister and husband, Shane of Sanger and Carrie Yates and husband, Sterling of Sanger; stepson, Star Stephens of Duncan, Okla.; grandchildren, Hunter, Garrett, Declan, Piper, Weston, Brady and Kaylie; and many nieces and nephews.
