Joseph W. Adamson 1932 - 2016
BREMERTON, WA - Joseph W. Adamson, 83, of Bremerton, Wash., will be remembered as a man of deep faith, an abiding love of family and a constant friend to all who knew him. He died Aug. 8 after a long battle with Parkinson's.
Joe was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Danville, Ill. He married Jeanette Shepard of Springfield, Ill., on March 21, 1955. Joe served in the U.S. Army for two years at Fort Bliss, Texas. He was a graduate of Milliken University and chief mechanical engineer for Fiat-Allis in Springfield, where he retired after 32 years. He later accepted a lead engineering position at American Yard Products in Orangeburg, S.C., and then at Snapper in Atlanta.
Joe is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughter Tamela Adamson-McMullen (David); son Robert Joseph Adamson (Wendi); grandson Tanner McMullen; many nieces and nephews; and friends from coast to coast.
A memorial service will be observed at 3:30 p.m., Thurs., Aug. 18, at Bremerton United Methodist Church, 1150 Marine Drive, Bremerton, Wash. Burial service: 10:30 a.m., Mon., Aug. 22, at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash. Donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation and/or flowers appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel, Bremerton.
