James Arthur Barrett passed away on August 20, 2009. He was born on November 8, 1917, in Detroit, Michigan to William and Minnie Barrett. James was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and son Timothy Barrett. He met his beloved wife, Claire at a New Year's Eve party in 1940; they had their first date on January 1, 1941, and married on Christmas Day 1943. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was employed by the telephone company for 44 1/2 years. Surviving family members are his devoted wife Claire Barrett of 65 wonderful years, daughters Terri Bolda and Tamara Peters, son Thomas Barrett, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Memorial will be held at the Masonic Lodge in El Cajon on September 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
