Burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Palestine was under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. He was born October 19, 1953 in Kingsville, Texas to Charley and Mary Hendricks Akerman. Mr. Akerman was a route salesman for Mrs. Baird's Bread Company for 31 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jimmy Hendricks. Mr. Akerman is survived by his wife of 30 years, Vicky Lynn Akerman; daughter, Summer Renee Gonzales and husband Raymond; son, Nicholas Akerman and wife Amanda; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerald and Ruth Lambright; sisters, Mary Bedre, Dorothy Asher, and Pauline Conley; brother, Anthony Akerman; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bubba Bedre, Bryan Bedre, Jason Akerman, Justin Rhodes, Royce Melton and Raymond Gonzales.
