Robert Ashley, 43, of Rt. 1, Malone died Tuesday, March 31, 1981, at Alice Hyde Hospital where he was taken by Malone Rescue Co.

Born in Fort Covington Jan. 28, 1938; he was the son of Ernest and Frances Ashley. He was married to Clada Fisher Feb. 23, 1963, in St. John Bosco Church. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Frances Ashley of Cooks Corners; three daughters, Tracy, 16, Anna, 15, and Brenda, 13, all at home; a brother, Charles of Cooks Corners; and a sister, Mrs. Pauline Griffin of Sodus, NY

He was predeceased by a brother, Paul.

He lived most of his life in the Malone area, attended Fort Covington Schools and graduated from Salmon River Central School.

He was a tractor trailer driver for Elliott and Hutchins for three years. He also worked as a auto Mechanic at Perry's Service Station. One year ago he started his own auto repair business, Bob's Auto Salvage, Rt. 1, Malone, and was operating that business at the time of his death. He was an 11 year member of the Malone Lodge of Moose and a member of Notre Dame Church.

There were no calling hours. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. today in Notre Dame Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by St. Mary and Murphy Funeral Home.
