He was born July 10, 1899, in Kelly Township and spent his early life there. He was educated at Tome Preparatory School at Ft. Deposit, MD and attended the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD, and Iowa State University at Ames.
Mr. Adcock farmed all his life, was a member of the Coldbrook Christian Church and was active in many local organizations.
He married Lillian M Bruington at Coldbrook Township in Warren County, August 18, 1920. She preceded him in death. Survivors include one son, Joseph E of Kankakee; one daughter , Mrs. Howard (Marjorie) Seaton of Monmouth, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 PM at Turnbull Funeral Home at Monmouth, where friends may call Friday afternoon and evening. Burial will be at Mosher Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his honor with contributions to be left at the funeral home, the family said.

Funeral services for Joseph W Adcock, 68, of Galesburg Route 2, who died Thursday at Cottage Hospital, were held Saturday at 1:30 PM at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth.
Rev. Gilbert Daniel of the Coldbrook Christian Church officiated and Mrs. Marie Gabby was the organist.
Pallbearers were Alex Lawson, Elmer Bloomgren, Owen Franz, Tanner Glass, Robert N Adcock and Everett Bruington.
Burial was in Mosher Cemetery.
