The son of Raymond John Agnello and Michielina C. Panaro, he was a jockey since 1966, retiring from horse racing in 1993. With 3000 winning races in his career, he rode all over the country including The Preakness. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Anthony Agnello, Jr.; one brother, Benedict D. Agnello; and his fiancée and long time companion, Sharon Fox. He was predeceased by one brother, Raymond Agnello.
