Robert "Bob" Lester Allen, 82, of Choctaw, OK, passed away on October 7, 2010 in Midwest City, OK. Born June 22, 1928 in Chandler, OK to Lester and Bessie Opal Allen. Bob joined the US Army in 1946. After serving in the military, he attended OU. He then worked for various highway material testing labs. Bob was then self-employed at Mohawk Rock & Sand in Tulsa. Throughout his career he built many sand plants and rock crushers for various companies throughout Oklahoma. He was an active member of the Association of General Contractors Highway Division. He was a member of Quail Springs First Baptist Church and was active in the senior adult choir and orchestra. For many years he was a member of the OK Chorale and other barbershop quartet groups. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jerry David Allen. He was married to Mary Sue Taylor, with whom he had four children. Bob is survived by his wife, Mozelle Allen; son, Steve Allen and wife Marta and their children, Paul and Lexie Allen and Melissa Allen; son, Jeff Allen and wife Keli and their children, Matt, Kaci, and Jerry Allen II; daughter, Jayne Bell and husband Tom and their children, Rebecca, Joel, Jared, and Katie Bell; and brother, Gene Allen and wife Dorothy. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 11, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., at Quail Springs First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, with interment to follow at Memorial Park, Edmond, OK.
