Bette Lou Albert was born on Christmas Day of 1926 to Cecil and Louise (Blanton) Albert in Indianapolis, Indiana, and passed away Friday, October 29, 2010. She is survived by four cousins: Betty Blanton Moore, Shirley Curtis Lochridge, Jo June Curtis Towery and Corky Albert and their families. Bette Lou attended school in Indiana and Hockaday School for Girls in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of New Mexico, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. After college, Bette moved to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, where she was employed by the First National Bank. She lived in many of the major cities in America and traveled extensively. In 1983 she moved back to Pauls Valley to care for her parents. She has been a vital part of the community: she was a member and trustee of the Presbyterian Church; she served 13 years on the First National Bank Board of Directors; she was a Smith Paul donor to Main Street Pauls Valley; a loyal supporter of the Toy and Action Figure Museum and the Pauls Valley Animal Shelter. She loved tennis and was an avid golfer. Bette Lou served as a member of the Pauls Valley General Hospital Foundation Board, as well as being a volunteer with the Hospital Auxiliary. She will be missed by all her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Tom Buzbee. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Interment and professional services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
