Beloved daughter of Viola Virginia Visart and Henry George Loyd, cherished little sister of Eileen Cathryn and Edna Geanell. She was the mother of Kenneth Charles, John Lawrence, Samuel Kirk, Petilla Lee and Mary Ann by her first husband, Kenneth Elbert Bass. Her gentle spirit will be missed by all of her children, nieces and nephews, but particularly by her very special niece, Rita Kathryn.

Be at peace, Aunt Wee.Rita Melvina Loyd Bass Beason Sutton, 83 of Bay City passed away Saturday, March 03, 2007. She was born May 14, 1923 in Dequincy, LA to the late Henry George Loyd and Viola Visart Loyd.

She was a long-time resident of Bay City, a retired secretary and a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter: Mary Bass Baker of Matagorda; her sons: Sam Bass of Mexico, John Bass and Till Bass of Bay City; by her special niece: Rita Katherine Roney & husband Glen of McAllen; by 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 3 husbands: Kenneth E. Bass, Pete Beason, and Russell Sutton; by a son: Kenneth C. Bass: by 2 sisters: Eileen Hitchcock and Geanell Robertson; and by a Great Grandson: Dylan Scott Williams.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Matagorda Cemetery in Matagorda, TX with Rev. Pauline Harvey officiating.
