Auburndale Ex-Mayor Allen Dies
AUBURNDALE (Special) - Ralph Chester Allen, 82, former mayor of Auburndale, died Wednesday at Lakeland General Hospital. Mr. Allen, who lived at Dean Blvd., was a native of Illinois and had lived in Auburndale since 1917. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Laura Allen; a daughter, Mrs. Edward Keefer, Auburndale; four sons, J. Everett Allen, Auburndale, John J. Allen, Winter Haven, Robert C. Allen, Tampa, Chester Allen, Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Miss Nettie Allen, Auburndale, and Mrs. Dwight M. Donaldson, Lakeland; two brothers, Sheldon Allen, Lakeland, and H. M. Allen, Orlando; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
