Ruth Louise Bevier, 77, of Peoria was born Aug. 19, 1934, in Pelkie, Mich., and passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Peoria, Ill.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Anne Groff, son-in-law, John Groff, and grandsons, Justin and Kellar Groff, all of Peoria. Also surviving are two sisters, Edith Moberg of Baraga, Mich., and Beatrice (William) Prewitt of Chico, Calif.; and one brother, Rueben (Evelyn) Turunen of Pelkie, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald James Bevier; her parents, Matti and Hilja (Lappala) Turunen; sisters Martha, Aili, Eleanor, Syl and Eva; and brothers Reino, Ralph and Bruno.

A private memorial will be held, with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
