He was born on December 28, 1909 in Roscoe, Mont. to William S. and Sadie Glenn Baker.
He attended schools at Absarokee. Before going into the service in World War II he was a jackhammer operator. On January 13, 1942, he entered the U.S. Air Corps and served in the rank of sergeant in the 426 Army Air Force Base Unit, Gowen Field, Idaho. He was a Link trainer operator and instructor.
On October 12, 1945, he received an honorable discharge from the service. After the war Baker was employed as a cement finisher in the construction industry. He was also employed at one time by the City of Bozeman street department. Baker worked on ranches in Gallatin Valley and for some time was employed by the Sportsmens Lodge at Ennis.
Baker was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Bozeman and Gallatin Post 14 of the American Legion. Before going to the Veterans Hospital on Nov. 5, he had been living at the Cosner Hotel.
He is survived by a brother, Chester R. Baker of Three forks; two sisters, Mrs. Frank J. (Addie) Braley of Billings, Mrs. J. W. (Hazel) Barry of Three Forks, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at the Dahl Funeral Chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
